Hello, my name is Vickie Lynn.  I was born in the great state of Alaska when it was still a territory and have lived here all my life.  I was raised in Fairbanks and lived there for 40 years.  Despite the cold winters, I thought it was a great place to grow up.  We were pretty isolated from the lower 48 in the 60's, but we didn't really know any different.  We got used to seeing Christmas TV specials in February.    
I now live in Anchorage and have for the past 27 years.  It's the largest city in Alaska.  Fairbanks is still my hometown.  A lot of family still lives there, including my two sons.  I live in Anchorage with my husband, we're both retired.  I retired from the Department of Public Safety 4 years ago where I worked almost 27 years.

I knew I had some art talent, but it wasn't until after I retired that I really had the time to decide on what median I really liked.  Watercolors is what I started with and I love it!  I also paint rocks; I involved my granddaughters with this too.  I am most happy I think when my kitchen table is full of paints and brushes!  I'm not joking either.  I can't seem to get away from the kitchen table.  

I recently moved the bed and dresser out of our downstairs guest room.  It wasn't getting as much use as I'd thought; I guess no one really wanted to visit us!  LOL

So, I moved everything out and moved all my arts and crafts and paints in.  Suffice it to say, I have yet to paint down there!  The light is so great in the day in my dining room.  

So this is my first Etsy shop.  I'm doing this mostly for fun!  And I'm having fun!  My goal is to get 100 greeting cards in my shop!  Wish me luck!  Oh, I forgot to tell you, we have 5 beautiful granddaughters!  4 of which live here in Anchorage, which keep us busy and one that lives in Vancouver, WA that we miss more than anything!
